Two persons are reported to have been killed and several houses burnt after Gendarme officers raided Adere village Tuesday, said a native of Adere in Nwa Subdivision, Donga Mantung Division of Cameroon’s Northwest region.
The names of the two men killed we got as Mfiekwe Simon and Findo Tabor, popularly called Pa Nji Tabor.
The village, located several kilometers from the divisional headquarters, Nkambe, has further been driven from development as villagers have been forced to flee into the bushes after most of their homes were burnt.
“At 5:00 a.m., the gendarmes entered the village on foot since we do not have motorable roads. They broke into a home and killed two men! The sound of gun alerted other villagers to flee into bushes! The military later burnt almost all houses in the village,” said our soirce who preferred anonymity.
