The Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique has assured measures are already being put in place by the state to identify culprits of the Nancho street shooting in Bamenda, North West region.
Speaking to the press days after the attack, governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique pledged to identify the culprits and bring them to justice. “I want to hereby assure the population that strict measures have already been taken to identify the culprits of this act and punish them in accordance with the laws of the country.” The governor declared.
Just like the governor of the North West Region, Cameroon’s Ministry of Defense has equally issued a statement promising to identify the assailants and bring them to justice.
This macabre act took place on July 16, 2023 as a grouped of armed men opened fire on civilians in Bamenda, killing over 10 persons. Many persons have pointed accusing fingers on separatist fighters who meantime have denied any involvement in the carnage.
