Gov’t imposes fines against waste mismanagement in Yaounde




The Yaounde city council has imposed fines ranging from 5000 CFA for dumping of waste.


According to reports, the dumping of waste water on the road by a mature person goes with a fine of 10,000 CFA.



The dumping of oil and other lubricants will require a sum of 50,000 CFA, while those dumping products considered toxic will be demanded the sum of 75,000 CFA.

According Luc Atangana, city mayor of Yaounde, every council has as duty to report such cases to the municipality who in turn will take action by imposing fines.
