Guibai Gatama declines Eto’o Fils’ invitation to attend FECAFOOT Executive Committee session

Gubai Gatama, member of the executive committee of the Cameroon Football Federation has declined Eto’o Fils’ invitation to take part in a session of the Executive Committee.

The executive committee member disclosed the decision in a release, published today August 25, 2022.

Guibai Gatama was elected member of the FECAFOOT Executive Committee during an elective general assembly which took place on December 11, 2021.


The session, organized by the Cameroon Football Federation is scheduled to take place on August 26, 2022, in Douala, Littoral Region of Cameroon.

According to Gatama, Samuel Eto’o Fils, fecafoot president is not qualified for the position of President.

He said: “I will not participate in a session of the Executive Committee convened by a person who is no longer qualified to do so.”



“As a reminder, Mr. Samuel Eto’o Fils, signatory of the convocation of the Executive Committee of August 26, 2022, is no longer president of FECAFOOT since his conviction on June 20, 2022, to 22 months in prison for tax evasion in Spain, in under the combined provisions of articles 36 and 47 of the statutes of FECAFOOT, ” he added.

It should be recalled that Gubai Gatama, on July 2022, declared Eto’o Fils mandate irregular and asked Céline Eko current Vice President of the Federation to take over.
