Health officials of the North West Regional Delegation of Public Health have disclosed that there’s an outbreak of yellow fever and other epidemics in the North West region.
Two cases of yellow fever have already been confirmed with one Oku, Bui Division, and another in the Bamenda III subdivision.
Meanwhile, there have also been confirmed cases of measles in the Ako health district, Donga Mantung division, and one person have been tested positive for Monkeypox disease in the Benakuma health district.
The North West coordinator of the expanded program on Immunization, Dr. Cornelius Chebo has revealed that plans are underway for a mass vaccination campaign against these epidemics.
He has also called on the population to report any suspected cases of the diseases to the nearest health district.
“We want to emphasize that anybody that is experiencing any unusual symptoms should go to the nearest vaccination centre for more testing because we are already in an epidemic”, Dr. Cornelius said.
