Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has embarked on another ambitious culinary endeavor today, September 12, cooking what is anticipated to be the world’s largest pot of Jollof rice.
The event, already anticipated across social media, has attracted over 20,000 registered attendees eager to experience this cooking display ceremony.
Preparations for the ambitious undertaking have been carefully managed, with Baci recently giving a glimpse of the washing of the huge pot created especially for the occasion.
A sweet and touching video making its way around the internet captures a personal moment: Baci’s mother leading a prayer, sharing blessings and support as the chef gets ready for the challenge ahead.
Hilda Baci currently holds a Guinness World Record for the longest time spent cooking.
She attained the feat in May 2023 after spending 93 hours 11 minutes cooking but the record was overtaken by Irish chef Alan Fisher (119 hours, 57 minutes).
