HND examination practicals kick off in Bamenda

The practical session of the 2024 Higher National Diploma, HND, examination has kicked off in Bamenda, North West Region, as elsewhere in Cameroon.

The exercise is meant to assess the practical knowledge of candidates in various fields of study.

This follows a month-long defense of research projects by the candidates in various higher institutions of learning accredited by the government.

The practical session is part of the requirements to sit for the written part of the HND, which, takes place in June this year, according to a circular from the Ministry of Higher Education.

One of the venues for the practical season is the Nkwen District Hospital for students of medical and biomedical Sciences.

Dozens of students were at the venue as early as 7 am today to acquaint themselves with the environment during the exam.

The Higher National Diploma is a yearly examination organized by the Ministry of Higher Education for second-year and third-year university students in Cameroon.

However, students who acquire this diploma will have to study for one more year in order to attain a Bachelor’s degree in the field of study.

The HND programme equips students with recognised skills that could fetch them a job. The programme, which originates from the United Kingdom, was adopted by Cameroon in 2002.
