Horror in Mamfe:
Armed men set security guard on fire in attempt to rob bank

A security officer of the National Financial Credit (NFC) Bank in Mamfe, South West Region, was set on fire by unidentified armed men who attempted to rob the said bank.

The dramatic incident took place in the early hours of Monday, October 10, 2022.

According to reports, a government official and a civilian sustained injuries, as a result of stray bullets from the robbers’ gun

“The armed men who attacked the NFC bank Small Mamfe set the security guard on fire before he died. All attempts to break into the bank were futile. In frustration, they attacked nearby State forces, shaking the entire Small Mamfe with thunderous gunshots,” reported CNA.

The portal added: “The bullets penetrated into nearby homes injuring a civilian. A school saved the life of the little girl as the bullets ripped through the bag and books before hitting her.”

The bank in question is located a few kilometers from a Gendarmerie Brigade.
