HRM Fo’o Sokoudjou of Bamendjou sends message of reassurance amidst purported government plans to silence him

On his Facebook page, the outspoken leader of the Bamendjou people assured Cameroonians of good faith and the people of Bamendjou that he is fine and will not go down like a coward.

Fo’o Sokoudjou of recent has again come under the radar of government bigwigs for his critical outings against the regime.

The witch-hunt surrounding the traditional ruler has been nothing short of deplorable, and there indeed are rumors making rounds that the government might well be concocting a plan to stifle HRM Fo’o Sokoudjou from his numerous outbursts that have been nothing but a torn to the government.

Looking introspectively at the case of Fo’o Sokoudjou, we realize that it is a case of Cameroon’s Democracy against the World’s. In Cameroon’s democracy, it is either you glorify and worship or you worship and worship the regime.

Fail to toe this line and you are quickly termed unpatriotic and an insurrectionist just like the case of Fo’o Sokoudjou.

Despite fears that he might have already been taken into Government’s dragnet, Fo’o Sokoudjou made a post this morning reassuring Cameroonians that he was doing fine.

The leader wrote “I have heard your prayers and seen how you are all already mourning for me while I am still on my feet. I have listened to my ancestors and I can affirm to you this morning that I am doing well. I will never go like a foul, I will send my farewell wishes before I depart from you all…,” he quoted.

In a message that got a wide array of reactions from concerned Cameroonians, the traditional ruler pointed out that he would however choose to die than see his people perish to his face of hardship. He also called on all Cameroonians to go into deep meditation for the sake of their country and to place it in the hands of their ancestors.

Reactions to the Traditional Ruler’s post were nothing short of heartwarming from Cameroonians, most of whom believe he is a rare breed of Traditional leader who has stood and abided by the will of his people and not consumed by greed and gluttony like many now have.

An anonymous user wrote “Imaging we still have just 10 of such Chiefs in Cameroon. You’re without an iota of contradiction, a sublime leader, an absolute maestro, and a pacesetter. Long Live FO’O Sokoudjou Chendjou II. We love you!”

Another envious user was regretful why Fo’o Sokoudjou was not the leader of his native village instead. “I wonder if we even have a chief in my Village in Bafoussam… why couldn’t you have been our chief rather than the Sardinard that has been mounted there? Long live King Sokoudjou”.

Another wrote “Thanks, Your Majesty. I think other chiefs will learn from you and will really know what their role is to the society. Thank you and may the Lord grant you more Years!”

These reactions like almost all had a trend of wishes for long life from the emblematic leader of the Bamendjou people.

Many made it clear that Fo’o Sokoudjou is a rare breed amongst all traditional rulers from whom all others should follow rather than alienate like is being done by government authorities.
