HTTTC Bambili graduates frustrated over exemption from posting list

Secondary school teachers who recently graduated from the Higher Technical Teachers Training College (HTTTC) Bambili, otherwise referred to as ENSET Bambili, have been posted to their new duty posts.

According to a list released by the ministry of secondary education, they will begin work as soon as possible.

Some Computer Science and ICT students however say their names have not featured and the ministry is silent about it.

“We have waited for two months after graduation from ENSET Bambili. We who offered ICT did not find our names on the list of postings. We don’t know if we are dismissed or ICT is no longer consider in Cameroon,” wonders one of the exempted teachers.

The aggrieved teacher adds that “our Head of Department told us that they have nothing to do. We only have to get to Yaounde ourselves and complain at the ministry of secondary education.”

“They are the ones who sent our names for graduation. If some of the names are not out, they should be the ones to ask Yaounde what is wrong not us,” explains the frustrated teacher.

Another teacher who was not posted has a similar preoccupation. “We are just frustrated and we don’t know what to do,” the teacher says.

The teacher adds that “we don’t even know if the Yaounde government is aware that not all names were posted and we don’t know how to make our voices heard.”

HTTTC Bambili and the ministry of secondary education since the publication of the lists have made no official comment on the ‘missing names’.

Similar irregularities in the past have often been resolved or improved upon only after persistence and sometimes protests by unsatisfied teachers and civil servants.
