Hundreds of computers stolen in Maroua University robbery

Thieves are reported to have broken into the University of Maroua’s Kongola campus located 6 km from the city center.

The Wednesday night incident left over 100 computers missing.

Reports say the men of the underworld entered the building through the window after taking off the metal protectors.

Targeting the faculty of law building, they are said to have made away with 140 PB computers offered to students by the President of the Republic Paul Biya.

The institution’s security guards are still under detention as investigations have been opened to track down the culprits.

Since the commencement of the distribution of the Paul Biya Higher Education Vision, PBHev computers, several students are believed to have already sold theirs.

Reports say these same computers are now easily found on the black markets sold at surprisingly cheap prices.
