I wanted to kill myself after my accident – Petit Pay talks of suicidal tendencies
Invited to the program Tam-tam Weekend on the antennas of CRTV, Petit Pays, the self-proclaimed defender of women’s rights, has recounted the ordeal he suffered for five years of his life, which almost pushed him to suicide.
He appeared lively and vigorous as always, Tam-tam Weekend, a popular Sunday program aired on the national station, Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV).
During the show, Le Rabat—or Rabit, as he is commonly called—recounted his pain after his accident. “I wanted to kill myself. After my accident, I went five years without walking. Especially for a man who travels back and forth across the world. It was a mystical accident that was not simple. With us, we are not simple,” explained the star of Makossa.
In September 2018, as Petit Pays walked home from sports, a motorcycle struck him and knocked him to the ground close to his Makepe home. According to reports, the bike struck him from behind, causing him to fall and go unconscious, breaking his teeth and breaking his wrist.
“When you decide to come to your country to improve your career, it does not suit some people. But we do with it. Many Cameroonians came to stay but suffered, which is why they returned. But I said no, we have a beautiful country, I must resist. Thank God I was able to cross these difficult borders,” added the author of “I Didn’t Want to Love Anymore.”
Petit Pays is one of Cameroon’s iconic musicians with several awards and albums to his name.
