Inhabitants of Maroua organize prayer session for slain Kumba schoolchildren

Denizens of the town of Maroua in the Far North Region organized a prayer session to mourn and sympathize with victims of the Kumba massacre.
On October 24, unidentified gunmen killed seven schoolchildren at Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in Kumba.

The solemn ceremony in Maroua was therefore dominated by the presence of children from the Saint Egidio community who led the processioms with lit candles accompanied by their parents.
The children also held placards with different messages of peace and a plea for the return of normalcy to the Anglophone regions.

During the prayers, the prelates also called for a solution to the insecurity in the Far North Region that has claimed more than a thousand lives and displaced more than 11,000 persons.

The men of God have warned the government on the impending dangers of the crisis in Cameroon crossing thresholds as according to them, a war lasts longer than expected when lives of children start being claimed.
