By Timfuchi Aaron

Vulnerable and Internally Displaced women living in Bamenda have been invited to register at the North West regional delegation of Women Empowerment and the Family and take part in training to enable them to acquire skills in some income-generating activities.

The information was made known by the regional delegate Hassan Wirba during the first preparatory meeting in Bamenda ahead of the 2022 edition of the International Women’s Day celebrations.

The regional delegate explained that the target is to empower close to 100 vulnerable and Internally Displaced women to be economically autonomous and reduce the rate of poverty and dependency.

“We want to train them on the production of liquid gel, menthol, pastries. These will help sustain the women and also support their children and their partners”, Hassan Wirba said.

Officials of the delegation of women empowerment have also announced plans to partner with women from other state corporations and civil society groups to carry out health campaigns, visit and provide assistance to female inmates at the Bamenda Central Prison.
