The Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon, HE Isi Yanouka, has died, the Israeli Embassy in Cameroon announced early this Monday, April 10.
HE Yanouka was Israel’s Ambassador to Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Togo, Burkina Faso and Benin.
“Ambassador Yanouka was an outstanding diplomat, a generous and gentle person, who shared values of humanism. His actions were a reflection of the excellent relations between Cameroon and Israel,” the Israeli Embassy in Cameroon said on its Facebook page.
Yanouka joined the diplomatic service in 1994 and held several posts, including that of Director of the Department of International Organizations before being appointed as Ambassador of Israel in Ivory Coast, Togo and Benin.
Many diplomats accredited to Cameroon stopped at the Israeli Embassy in Yaounde this afternoon to pay tribute to him and sign the funeral booklet, among them Turkish Ambassador.
During his service in Cameroon, Ambassador Yanouka was known for his openness and fond nature, said journalist Commy Mussa, who once attended a session hosted by the Ambassador for journalists in Cameroon.
