Job Opportunity: Social Media Content Creator

Mimi Mefo Info (MMI) is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to help us create original and engaging content for our website and social media accounts. 

In this role, you will be responsible for researching and turning content ideas into videos, images, infographics, and text captions. You will also help the editors and publishers to create high quality graphics to accompany stories.

A deep interest in current social media trends is required to be successful in this role.

Background in journalism and mass communication is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Create various forms of social media content—text captions, videos, and images—suitable for the various social media platforms, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Threat, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Publish posts according to the established MMI editorial calendar.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure that every piece of content is relevant and helps the company maximize engagement and reach.
  • Ensure every piece of content you create aligns with our brand voice and editorial policy.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of social media trends, hashtags, and engagement strategy
  • Ability to work with creative tools like Adobe, Cava etc.
  • Proven experience in creating engaging content on different social media platforms.
  • Ability to turn a concept into compelling content
  • Ability to spot story ideas from our inboxes, research these and develop a compelling story.
  • Ability to incorporate our brand voice and identity in digital content
  • Knowledge of the popular social media platforms

Location

Candidates must be located in Africa. Preferably Nigeria or Cameroon but persons in other countries who are fluent in English and French will be considered.
