Just In: Gendarme Officer Brutalises School Staff In Douala

The Vice Principal of Government Bilingual High School, Bonassama in Bonaberi – Douala IV has been rushed to the hospital after after being brutalised by a Gendarmerie officer on Campus this morning. She was brutalised alongside a discipline master of the institution by the uniform officer who doubles as a parent in school.

According to Osang Nee Ekwalle Emilia, Principal of the school, the officer brought the child to the school gate more than an hour after the regular time. The discipline master then asked the child to run over a certain distance into her classroom as is the case with all late comers in the school, but the father who was still around rather got angry and landed on the school officials.
After a brief dispute the Gendarmerie officer got the teachers violently brutalised, leaving the vice principal a certain Madam Mbock with an almost broken hand according to locals sources.

The violent scene created commotion on campus in early hours of the day and the school authorities alerted the DO for Douala IV and the Gendarmerie commander of the administrative unit.

The officer managed to escape before the arrival of the DO and the Gendarmerie commander who called for calm and promised investigations and due sanctions.
The vehicle abandoned by the violent law enforcement officer was taken to the DO’s office, while the victim has been taken to the hospital.

This is one of a series of attacks on the teaching corp that has been on the rise in Cameroon lately . Recently a female teacher on duty was beaten to near death by a military officer in Bafoussam west region of Cameroon.
