Kah Walla leads civil society members to pay tribute to Martinez Zogo

Cameroonian politician and civil society leader, Edith Kah Walla, has led members of Stand Up For Cameroon, a civil society organisation seeking for socio-political change in the country, to journalist Martinez Zogo’s former workplace, Amplitude FM.

They were at the radio station in Yaounde this Friday afternoon, where they also added their voices to those of several other personalities and international institutions that have condemned the journalist’s brutal murder.

“No Cameroonian should die for investigating the management of our country, for asking questions, for protesting the theft of our money. None,” Kah Walla and her Stand Up For Cameroon members said in a post.

They are the latest group of people who have gone to Amplitude FM to light a candle in tribute to Martinez Zogo.

On Wednesday, January 25, the Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi, accompanied dozens of Yaounde-based journalists to Amplitude FM.

He reiterated government’s pledge to investigate and prosecute those who masterminded the journalist’s killing.

He was kidnapped on Tuesday, January 17, as he struggled to seek safety at a police station in Yaounde.

His body was found on Sunday, five days later, in a state of decomposition. An autopsy report indicated that his fingers were missing and he had been severely tortured before being killed.
