Kamto hints on Federalism as solution to Anglophone Crisis

MRC President, Maurice Kamto has said Cameroon’s instability is a huge turn off for investors willing to come to the country.Talking on France 24, the runner up of the 2018 presidential elections reiterated the reasons why his party won’t run for the election, stating that the MRC is playing its role in sensitising Cameroonians on their rights with respect to the polls. With respect to his stand on the special status proposed as a solution to the Anglophone Crisis, Kamto said “it is important to know the content of this special status”. To him to solve the problem government may even go as far as instituting federalism. With hundreds of soldiers and way more non soldiers killed, ” the major preoccupation is the reform of the state” Kamto noted.”I have no problem with a federal system that permits Cameroonians to manage their affairs and develop their regions” he added. The politician’s outing comes after a similar one on Equinoxe TV, one of the most watched interviews in 2019 in Cameroon.
