Kamto Welcomes Freed Militants, Says Fight Continues

The National President of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) political party, Professor Maurice Kamto, visited Bafoussam after two arrested members of his party were released.

The said party members were released earlier today, November 23rd, 2021, after having served a year and some months in prison, for several charges including insurrection.

While in the welcome visit, Barrister Kamto Maurice urged party militants to be steadfast in all that is thrown at them, adding that the pressure from The CRM party is giving members of the ruling party hard times, a reason why they will employ all means to silence them.

The former member of The International Law Commission of The United Nations further said “ But we must continue to fight against all odds, noting that only haters of peace always wish there is no peace”.

“ They will threaten us, use the army on us, but we will never give up the fight”.

The CRM political party expects some four still incarcerated militants to be released come December.

Recalling that militants of The CRM party were harassed and some key leaders especially were arrested due to the march orchestrated by the party in September 2020, under the orders and leadership of the party’s national President, Professor Maurice Kamto.
