Fon Clement Ndi II of Kom, Fundong Subdivision, Boyo Division in the North West Region of Cameroon has been rescued from the hands of Ambazonia separatist fighters in the locality.
“… When the population of Kom land learned about the abduction of the fon at about 9:00pm Sunday 14th February 2021, they immediately mobilized and stormed the Amba camp in Abuh forcing the separatists to release him,” a resident of Kom told Mimi Mefo Info on phone Monday, February 15.
Fon Clement Ndi II was kidnapped while returning to his palace in Kom after attending a thanksgiving mass at a Catholic church in Njinikom.
Locals say separatist fighters from Abuh in Fundong subdivision and some from Aboh in Belo subdivision teamed up to take away the Fon.
Information indicates that locals in Boyo Division have recently decided to collectively stand against either separatists or military men that seek to violate the rights of civilians in the community.
