Kribi insecurity: Six suspected robbers presented before public prosecutor

Six alleged robbers have been presented to the authorities in the town of Kribi, in the South Region by the Kribi Central Police Unit yesterday September 15, 2021.

The suspects were arrested in an operation carried out in Ngoyé by the police, following mounting reports of frequent cases of armed robberies in the area.

The arrested suspects are; Ulrich Ekonan, 17, Laurence Belinga 19, Gustave Nseke, 20, Marc Andreas Fankam, Levi Beboum and Châtelain Mbida. The group has been accused of being at the heart of several cases of theft and other atrocities in the Ngoyé district.

They have equally been accused of trafficking illicit drugs such as cannabis and marijuana, with some taxi men and commercial bike riders acting as their intermediaries.

Upon apprehension, the police recovered about 16 packets of cannabis, 26 packs of cocaine, two double-edged daggers, and a hand pistol.
