Kribi River records 30th death in 12 months

The body of an unidentified man was pulled out of the Kienke River in Kribi, South Region of Cameroon today.

The body, yet to be identified, was laid to rest by the Kribi 1 Council.

The latest incident tops to 30, the number of people drowned in the said water body since January 2021.

The Kienke River which flows into the open sea remains highly dangerous, locals have lamented.

The laxity and indifference of the municipal authorities, they say, has not made matters any better

Days ago, 4 people were reported to have died in a single day in the same Kienké River.
