Kribi: Trader arrested for slapping CPDM Senator

A trader at the Kribi market in the South region of Cameroon was briefly detained for slapping a senator.

Popularly known as Mami Ice Cream, eyewitnesses say she got beaten up after returning a slap from Senator Mba Mba this morning.

The senator reports say had tried to get Mami Ice Cream and other traders to leave the roadside in his battle against urban disorder.

Arrested after the encounter, the lady was reportedly taken to the Kribi Central Police Station and later released following the intervention of her husband, a worker at the Kribi City Council.

Despite being released, the lady in question’s ice cream machine was confiscated due to the exchange with the CPDM politician.

Following the encounter, reports say a second trader was injured by the senator’s vehicle as he made away from the crowd of traders that showed up at the scene of the altercation.

The victim is said to be receiving medical treatment at the moment.
