Kumba: Caterpillar operator escapes death in road accident

A caterpillar operator whose name MMI could not readily get is under intensive medical care in Kumba, South West Region of Cameroon, after surviving a an accident.

The accident, report says occured on at about 5pm on Sunday August 28, 2022 along the Kang Barombi road, in Kumba.

Eyewitness accounts say, the operator was on high speed, answering a phone call when the caterpillar lost track and somersaulted.

“……. the catapillar driver was on his way to the pit along the Barombi Kang road,” an eyewitness told MMI adding that: “He was on a speedy motion and was trying to answer a phone call when he loss control and the Caterpillar somersaulted.”

It took the intervention of onlookers for him to be pulled out of the caterpillar and rushed to the hospital where report says he is responding to treatment.
