Kumbo: Military disrupts catholic school classes, orders to government schools

Government soldiers are reported to have stormed a Catholic school in Kumbo, Bui division of the North West Region, and forced children to return home.

The incident took place today Tuesday, October 4, 2022, precisely in Tobin.

According to reports from Kumbo, the military officials left an atmosphere of fear in the establishment, as they shot sporadically at the buildings, giving the children an ultumatum to either return home or school in a government school.

Our source indicated that, “military men came to a catholic primary school in Tobin and asked the school children to go back home and never return to the school again. That if they love schooling they should go to the government school around the SDO’s office.”

“They fired gunshots in class destroying the windows. The military has been going around shooting every school which is not a government school,” our source added.

The incident took place at a time when most families have been warned by the separatist fighters against sending their children to government schools.

The situation has therefore left a good number of families of the locality, in a state of dilemma as they fear for the safety of their kids.
