Deceased City Mayor of Limbe, Fako division of the South West region, Andrew Motanga Monjimba, will be burried February 26. The politician will, according to a funeral program MMI has seen, be interred at his family compound in Mokudange- Limbe. His funeral program was made public by his family Monday.
Motanga died at a hospital in Douala on January 5 this year. This was after battling with an illness that took him out of the country for treatment.
Based on the programme, funeral activities will start on February 21 with group visitations to the Motanga family compound. This will be followed by traditional and sporting activities on the 24th.
The wake keep takes place on February 25 while the funeral service and burial will be done on the 26.
Motanga was elected pioneer City Mayor of the Limbe City Council, LCC in March 2020. Before now, he had served as the pioneer Government Delegate to the Limbe City Council between from 2009 to March 2020.
He had also served the municipality in several capacities. Motanga once served as the pioneer Chairman of the defunct Limbe Urban Council from 2002-2007 and as the pioneer Mayor of Limbe II Council from 2007-2009.
Prior to his death, Andrew Motanga was National President of the Scouts Movement of Cameroon; Chairman of the Management Committee of the Limbe Regional Hospital; Delegate at the General Assembly of FECAFOOT; and Board Member of the Nautical Arts and Fisheries School, Limbe.
