“Lifting restriction on bars is major cause for COVID-19 upsurge” – Cameroon Academy of Science

The Cameroon Academy of Science believes that the lifting of restrictions on bars and clubs is the major reason for which the cases of Coronavirus in the country have skyrocketed.

The academy says it is now left to Cameroonians to be responsible citizens and better know how to protect their health and those of their families. It suggests that the government engages in strict sensitization on how to handle the pandemic and equally for serious sanctions to be meted on defaulters of preventive measures instituted by the health bodies.

Hand sanitizers and facemasks, they advise, should be used by persons whenever they leave home, as well as maintaining safe social distance rules.
