Limbe-based Prophet Laments Prophecies that Did not Come True

A man of God, Prophet Babila Federick, of the Limbe-based Holy Temple of I Am Ministry, has expressed regret over two failed prophecies that led to insults from his followers. The prophecies in question involved the re-election of former US President Donald Trump in 2020 and the replacement of Paul Biya in 2018 by Akere Muna.

Babila revealed that prior to the 2016 US presidential election, he received a divine revelation that Donald Trump would be elected president, even though Trump was not his preferred candidate. “Truly, a prophet is never accepted on his own. But be ready for the rapture just after the second term of Trump,” he declared, citing an indication in the revelation that Trump was chosen to pave the way for the revival of the church and the rapture.

The prophecy seemed to hold true in 2016, but when Trump sought re-election in 2020, Babila again prophesied his victory. “In his first term, he changed the capital of Israel, which is biblical. His assignment will only be completed after his second term,” Babila insisted. However, this prediction backfired when Joe Biden emerged victorious.

The second failed prophecy centered around the 2018 Cameroonian presidential elections, where Babila claimed God revealed to him that independent candidate Akere Muna would emerge victorious. “In the second revelation, I saw Biya handing over to him,” Babila recalled. Nevertheless, Paul Biya was reelected, leaving the prophecy unfulfilled.

Facing criticism and insults from disappointed followers, Prophet Babila is now justifying the inaccuracies by attributing global calamities to the failure of Joe Biden to be anointed for the presidency. He claims that Biden’s lack of divine selection is the cause of ongoing conflicts, including the war in Ukraine.

Despite the negative impact on his ministry, Babila stands firm, insisting that the failed prophecies are divine revelations. “I have received all types of insults because of this prophecy. Many people call me a fake prophet because of these two prophecies,” he lamented.

However, Babila points to other prophecies that he claims have come to pass, such as his prediction about Africa cutting links with France. Citing coups in former French colonies like Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Gabon, and Guinea-Conakry, he asserted that God had foreseen Africa breaking free from Western interference. “In 2019, God revealed the French were struggling to negotiate to be partners with Africans,” he explained, emphasizing that this prophecy demonstrated the loss of French authority over African countries.

Despite the skepticism surrounding his failed prophecies, the Limbe-based prophet remains resolute in his belief that his messages are divine. The controversy has undeniably cast a shadow over the Holy Temple of I Am Ministry, but Babila insists on standing by his prophecies, leaving his followers to grapple with the tension between faith and disappointment.
