Limbe City Mayor visits USA to forge development partnerships

The Limbe City Council is set to establish a promising twinning partnership with the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, in the United States.

This development follows a recent visit to the USA by Paul Efome Ngale, the City Mayor of Limbe.

According to the municipality, the partnership aims to bring new opportunities and enhance the well-being of Limbe’s residents.

In a meeting with Frank Scott Jr., the City Mayor of Little Rock, discussions focused on best practices in areas such as the economy, education, empowerment, and culture.

“During the exchange, City Mayor Paul Efome Ngale presented a brief history of Limbe, its economic and touristic assets, and the city’s evolution from Victoria to present-day Limbe. The City Mayor of Little Rock showed interest and admiration for the ‘Town of Friendship and Opportunities’ and shared insights about his city,” the Limbe City Mayor said in a statement.

Following their meeting at Little Rock’s Town Hall, Mayor Ngale visited the Clinton School of Public Service, where discussions on academic partnerships were held.

Mayor Ngale highlighted the importance of the USA as a destination for academic advancement for many Cameroonians.

The impending partnership between Limbe and Little Rock is facilitated by the United Council for Youth Empowerment (UCYW), an international organization founded in Limbe by Fabian Lyonga.

UCYW aims to foster cultural heritage, enhance education and research, and promote sustainable youth development between Cameroon and Little Rock.

Mayor Ngale was invited to the USA to participate in the 2024 Victoria USA Convention held in Tampa, Florida.

Through this event, the mayor seeks to establish beneficial partnerships for his municipality.

“All indications point to the fact that a strong twinning partnership will soon be established,” the council statement concluded.
