Limbe: Fear grips Diabetic patients following endemic Insulin shortages

Diabetic patients in Limbe, South West Region of Cameroon are currently expressing worries over the sudden unavailability of Insulin.

According to the said patients, they have gone for over three months without the medication.

Insulin shortages in Cameroon put patients at risk

They say the situation is posing a great threat to their health condition.

“We the diabetic patience have been for more than 3 months now without medication ( Insulin ),” a patient told MMI.

“It has not been easy for us. They keep telling us it’s not available we don’t just know what to do,” lamented our source, stressing that they, ” are really in need of it.”

“We don’t expect this kind of medication to be out of stock while a lot of people depend on it,” Our source went on.

It should be recalled that some weeks back, Diabetes patients in Buea went on strike due to the unavailability of adequate equipment for their treatment.
