Loum: 23-year-old boy stabbed to death in brawl

23-year-old Ivan Tchepnang, popularly known as “Japonais Noir” has been stabbed in a brawl in Loum, a town in the Littoral

region of Cameroon.

Ivan was stabbed on the night of Saturday, April 30, 2023, in a snack bar known as “Tapis Rouge”.

According to information gathered by MMI, he was sleeping at their home in the Ngodi 3 neighborhood when his friends came and called him to back them up in a fight.

“He hurriedly followed his friends to the snack bar not knowing it would be his last fight on earth,” a source told MMI.

It should be noted that the phenomenon of “retour” which involves getting backup(friends) for a fight is very common amongst youths, especially those in the French-speaking regions of Cameroon.
