A man is said to have lost his life in Bafang, West Region of Cameroon.
He reportedly died while trying to retrieve his phone from a well.
Reports revealed that an earlier incident had occurred on the same spot.
A child is reported to have fell in the well and was rescued by the population.
The child was then rushed to the hospital.
“The man in question happened to be amongst rescuers of a little child who had earlier fallen in the borehole. Unfortunately, he dropped his phone in the well, but died when he went in search of it,” recounts a source.
According to sources, “after we handed over the child to the medical practitioners, he told us he left his phone behind and needed to go get it and that he would be back soon.”
However, the man, unaware that death was already at his door, unfortunately, lost his life trying to save his phone.
Family members and friends of the deceased have remained inconsolable following the dramatic incident.
