Man who jumped into river Wouri in suicide bid still missing

A man who took a plunge into the Douala Wouri River in Cameroon, in an alleged suicide bid is yet to be found.

The man has been identified as Ngong Mbang Frederick. He is a native in Kom, North West region of Cameroon.

Ngang Frederick dived into the river early Wednesday in full public view, after stepping out of his company vehicle.

“He drove the company’s bus, parked it beside the river and dived inside… The corpse has still not been retrieved, it was raining heavily that day, ” a source says.

Witnesses quickly rushed to the spot to rescue the man – even the efforts of security forces were in vain.
