Manchester City keep treble hopes alive with 2-1 win over United in the English FA Cup Final.

Manchester City are on course to win a treble this season after they sailed to victory with a 2-1 win over neighbours Manchester United in the final round of the English FA Cup.

Guardiola’s men maintained their treble hopes with today’s win, hoping to complete the feat when they meet Inter Milan on June 10th.

City captain Gundogan made the difference, volleying in twice from outside the box, once with each foot, as City defeated Arsenal to the Premier League title. United put City under intense pressure late in the game, but they were unable to score a second equaliser to force extra time!

Manchester City has won the FA Cup for the eighth time, making them the joint-sixth most successful club in the competition’s history. This is also their second consecutive league and FA Cup double, following 2018-19.

Ilkay Gündogan’s goal for Manchester City after 12 seconds was the fastest goal ever scored in an FA Cup final, surpassing Louis Saha’s shot after 25 seconds in 2009.

Manchester United has lost more FA Cup finals than any other team in the competition’s history (9). The Red Devils have now lost four of their past five competition final appearances.
