Manhunt for Woman Accused of Stealing Goods Worth 10 mFCFA

Gendarmarie officers in Douala have initiated a manhunt for a woman who allegedly robbed her boss’ shop of goods valued at 10 million Francs (CFA).

Kelly Najah Nkwain is reported to have absconded with hairpieces and wigs worth 10 million Francs CFA from her employer’s shop situated in Mboppi Douala, within the Littoral region of Cameroon.

In an official alert released by the Gendarmerie of Mboppi Douala, a manhunt has been launched, calling on individuals capable of identifying her whereabouts to come forward or report to the Gendarmerie station.

The shop owner, Afumbom, expressed her astonishment at the entire incident, considering that Kelly Najah Nkwain had been in her employ for the past three years.

Afumbom disclosed, “Kelly has been working for me for about 3 years now in my shop in Mboppi Market in Douala. She stole wigs and mesh from me amounting to 10,000,000frs. I discovered it on Sunday, and her fellow colleagues admitted that they were stealing together.”

Detailing the aftermath, Afumbom continued, “They returned part of the stolen wigs and meshes. Kelly is currently on the run, and the gendarmes are actively searching for her. I visited her apartment this morning, and she had already moved out.”

The shop owner was informed that immediately after the alleged theft, Kelly sought refuge in Bamenda, with plans to “open her own shop.”

There has been a flurry of reactions following the publication of this story. Many people have questioned why Afumbom has not presented CCTV evidence, given that there is one in the shop.

Evidence from different sources have raised questions about the credibility of Afumbom, especially after many of his previous workers have testified to his ill-treatment of his staff.
