Maroua: Two men die digging a well at construction site

Two men have died in an accident while digging a well at a construction site in Djojong, a locality in Maroua, Far North region of Cameroon.

The accident occured Thursday May 18, 2023.

Reports say the well which was almost twenty meters deep collapsed on the diggers, taking their lives.

According to information gathered, the yet to be identified men were noticed by one of the workers at the same construction site who raised an alarm.

“Their dead bodies were then extracted following the intervention of the army rescue unit in Maroua. It was a horrible and sad situation for everyone,” a witness told MMI.

Friends and family members have been inconsolable following the tragic incident.
