Martinez Zogo, three other journalists were earmarked for assassination – FEDIPRESSE

The Federation of Cameroonian Press Editors, FEDIPRESSE told Cameroon’s communication minister today that there was a list of journalists earmarked for murder — days before the brutal killing of Martinez Zogo.

FEDIPRESSE added that the list was already circulating on social media before the Amplitude FM’s host was kidnapped on Tuesday January 17th.

Here are those whose names featured on the list:

1) Haman Mana.

2) Christophe Bobiokono

3) Paul Chouta

4) Martinez Zogo

Minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi has pledged to ensure they and other journalists are protected.

But many are questioning how genuine his statements are, given that this is not the first time a journalist is being murdered.
