Mbengwi: Military rescues day old child dumped in the bush

By David Atangana

The Cameroon Military has rescued a new born baby said to be a day old, dumped in the bush by an unidentified mother , MMI gathered.

The incident occured Friday September 2,2022 in Mbengwi, Divisional headquarters of Momo

The new born baby girl according to reports, was wrapped in a cloth and tied in a black nylon paper with her placenta and abandoned in a bush not far from the road side around the monastery fence in Mile 17 Mbengwi.

“The mother gave birth to the child and threw the child inside the bush with her head inside a rapen paper” a source told MMI adding that.”

The uniform officers according to other narratives obtained by MMI had closed from their daily control at the Ngyen-Mbo Checkpoint and were returning to base in Mile 18 Mbengwi on foot when they heard the cry of a baby from the bush.

They reportedly followed the direction of the cries and discovered the baby, MMI gathered.

The military men, reports say carried her to the road and handed over to some women who then rushed with her to the Mbengwi District Hospital.

Well wishers have reportedly been visiting the hospital since the news broke out to offer her material gifts like clothes, milk and other needs.

Some locals are said to have indicated their willingness to adopt the child too.

Meanwhile, a search is on to identify the mother behind such an act.
