Mbouda: 28-year-old robs church to start a business

A man aged 28 has been caught robbing in a church in Mbouda, Bamboutos division in the West Region of Cameroon.

The 28-year-old reportedly broke into the church building on Wednesday June 29, 2022 and attempted making away with the sum of a hundred and thirty two thousand(132,000 FCFA).

According to reports, he was caught by a resident of the locality who then alerted the population.

The prompt intervention of the elements of the Mbouda Gendarmerie however rescued him from the hands of the population which was on the verge of administering jungle justice on the latter.

When interrogated, the young man disclosed that the act was carried out in order to get some capital with which he could start a business.

“I wanted to work with it, I want to start a business with it” he stated.

He is being held at the National Gendarmerie of Mbouda, where he awaits trial.
