The Board Chair of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), Dr. Enow Abrams Egbe, has established the composition of the National Commission for the Final Counting of Votes for the October 12 presidential election.
The 25-member commission comprises representatives from the judiciary, the administration, ELECAM, and the political parties that participated in the election.
Its specific composition includes a chairperson, two members from the judiciary, five from the administration, four from ELECAM, and 12 representatives from the political parties.
This commission, which has begun meeting in Yaounde, is responsible for counting the votes brought in from the various regions of the country and will submit the results to the Constitutional Council for the official proclamation of the winner.
Chairperson
Essombe Emile: He is a member of the Constitutional Council appointed by a presidential degree in 2018. Before assuming the role at the Constitutional council, Essomba, 64, was serving as Attorney General of the South West Court of Appeal.
He started his career as Deputy Prosecutor at Edea after graduating from ENAM. He was later appointed to the rank of a judge in wouri. Since then, he served in several judicial functions as court President in Haut-Nyong in Abong-Mban, East region, Mayo Sava and later Attorney General in Adamawa Court of Appeal.
Representatives of the Judiciary
Fonkwe Joseph Fongang: He is the president of the judicial Bench of the Supreme Court. He was appointed following the previous higher judiciary council in 2020. He hails from Lewoh Fotabong in Lebialem Division of the Southwest region.
Ondoua Obounou Charles: He is the president of the Public Service litigation at the Supreme Court.

Nganko Firmin Daniel: He is Charge de mission at the Secretariat of the presidency of the Republic.
Litet Gabriel Francois: Charge de Mission Prime Minister’s General Secretariat.
Bekila Gisele Valerie: Inspector General of Elections at the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
Oumarou Chinmoun: Secretary General at the Ministry of External Relations.
Issanda Issanda Solomon: Director of Political Affairs and Representation at the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
