Residents of Esu in Menchum division of the North West region say their health centre has been transformed into a military barracks.
This they say has been the status quo since August this year.
This the inhabitants say has left them without proper medical attention since June following the brutalization of medical personnel as well as Amba-military confrontations.
“All those who need medical attention are left with no option than to travel several kilometers to Wum” a source in Esu told MMI.
The lack of telephone signals in the area residents say is not making matters easier. One resident told MMI that inhabitants have to stand at strategic positions to make use of network services.
Several rural areas in the conflict-hit North West and South West regions are witnessing a similar situation, with schools and other supposed-to be neutral facilities transformed to military or separatist fighters strongholds.
