Mezam SDO bans undeclared meetings, public manifestations

The Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh has prohibited any “undeclared meetings and public manifestations” in the Division till further notice.

The instruction is announced in a release signed by the Mezam Divisional Officer on September 27, 2022.

According to the release, “undeclared meetings and Public Manifestations in Mezam Division are hereby prohibited till further notice.”

Any persons that attempt to do so, he warns, will be punished in accordance with the regulations in force.

The prohibition comes a week to October 1, known to be a very tense day in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon.

A similar release it should be recalled, was published by Emile Mooh on September 14, 2020, ahead of a planned protest by the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party.
