The Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh
The Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh, has condemned the brutal killing of the Second Deputy Mayor of Bamenda II, Joko Frida, calling on public officials to be vigilant.
The SDOs’ reaction is contained in a release signed Monday, October 28.
The statement strongly denounced the attack, describing it as a “barbaric act” targeting an unarmed civilian, a woman who selflessly served her community.
The Second Deputy Mayor of Bamenda II was found dead in a pool of blood on Monday morning, after she was abducted by gunmen believed to be separatist fighters on Saturday evening.
The SDO said the atrocity was part of a troubling pattern of human rights violations by those he called terrorists.
The SDO urged public officials to remain vigilant, calling on residents to actively support administrative authorities, defense, and security forces in maintaining social cohesion and peace in Mezam Division.
The remains of Joko Frida were picked up by the ambulance of the Bamenda Regional Hospital and were deposited at the mortuary pending burial arrangements.
