Mfou Deputy Mayor, Two Relatives Die in Car Accident

Joseph Marien Zambo Belinga, Deputy Mayor of Mfou Council in the Mefou and Afamba Division, Center Region, died in a car accident early this Monday, November 25.

Two of his relatives also died, among them his brother Mbarga Belinga Jean Romuald, an Elite One first assistant referee. Their female cousin died as well.

The tragedy occurred on the Yaounde-Nsimalen highway after their vehicle hit a brewery truck parked on the highway.

An image that MMI has seen shows a red car buried beneath a red brewery truck, completely charred.

The remains of the deceased, MMI gathered, have been taken to the mortuary of the Mfou District Hospital, pending burial arrangements.
