Military blunder leaves one dead in Babanki

By Soulemanu Buba

A man has been killed in Babanki, Tubah sub division, Mezam division of the North West region.

The man said to be a family head was killed by soldiers as he returned from Bamenda to Boyo.

He died after being hit by a bullet fired by soldiers.

The old man was shot in the car transporting him to Boyo over the weekend.

Reports say the incident that occured between Babanki and Belo was triggered by separatists’ attack on soldiers in Boyo Division of the restive Northwest region of Cameroon.

We also gathered that soldiers blocked the roads in anger and were shooting indiscriminately which led to the death of the family head.

We are yet to confirm reports that another person also died from gunshot wounds as soldiers opened fire indiscriminately.

Babanki just like many other areas in Tubah sub division of the Northwest region of Cameroon has for the past days recorded numerous killings and burning down of properties.
