Residents of Nkwen Mile 4, a locality in Cameroon’s troubled North West Region say gunshots early this morning have left them indoors for fear of their lives.
Locals say they suspect it was another gun exchange between separatist fighters and government forces who have been battling over control of the country’s Anglophone regions for over four years today.
The conflict has left thousands dead and hundreds of thousands displaced and in need of humanitarian aid.
