Kumbo: Military Weight Killing Civilians As Amba Hit-And-Run

Travelling to Njavnyuy, in Bui is now a nightmare after three passengers using the Bamenda-Kumbo road, were pulled out the car and shot dead by the military on Tuesday and Wednesday.
One of the victims is called Derick aka “Pa Loic”.
He was pulled out of a passenger vehicle in the morning of Wednesday, October, 2018 and shot dead by soldiers at the locality of Njavnyuy in Kumbo municipality, Bui Division.

The driver of the car was severely beaten, sources revealed to Mimi Mefo info.
A relative who is yet to swallow the bitter pill of his death said Derick is leaving behind a wife and two kids.
“He was going to buy goods from Kumbo when they shot him, he is a business man, a father of two,a wife. Innocent killing is too much with military…
Derick is a popular Provision store owner at Nkar Market in Jakiri municipal area.” The relative of the bereaved narrated.

His corpse was only retrieved from the scene Wednesday evening when the military had left the scene.
Two more civilians were shot in the same vicinity under similar circumstances.

Locals in Njavnyuy who now live in fear, say the repression came after Amba boys attacked a security control point in the area “they did nothing when the boys came and attacked the area, it is only after their departure, that the people became the target of soldiers…” a local told Mimi Mefo info.

Several Njavnyuy residents are seeking refuge in bushes as a result.

“Njavnyuy is now a serious war zone with blood every where…
there is no calm at all as the military have since Sunday been trying to mount a new check point at the Njavnyuy Roundabout.
They faced an attack from the Amba boys on Monday which took away some uniform men with no casualties on the boys. So that is why they are killing innocent passengers whom to them are suspects.” He added.
Njavnyuy is one of the villages in restive North West and South West regions of Cameroon hit by targeted killings and violence. There is heavy military presence in the area.
