The military is said to have staged an operation in some villages in Bafut , Mezam division of the North West region around 2AM Thursday March 31, killing two Amba commanders, sources have confirmed.
A source disclosed that, the military detachment that carried out the operation entered Bafut on foot from Babanki and Bambui. The soldiers are said to have killed scores of domestic animals and razed several houses , leaving several families homeless.
“They soldiers laid ambush at a road junction and measure point. Two Amba ‘Generals’ and three ‘ Ccommanders’ where on guard that night. The military opened fire and they all fled but unfortunately for the two commanders who ran into the house of a man who is known for selling hard drugs who’s house was also on alert by the military, soldiers stormed the house and killed one commander,” our source narrated.
The same source said, the other commander started running but soldiers shot him to death also.
