Minister Paul Atanga Nji showcases amba guns in Bamenda

Less than a dozen locally made guns were presented to the press Tuesday, February 23rd 2021 in Bamenda by the Minister of Territorial Administration.

According to Paul Atanga Nji, a good citizens alerted elements of the military after noticing the guns in a house at Mile 29 along the road leading to Wum.

“When ever guns are seized or voluntarily lay down by terrorists in an area, it means calm will return in the area,” Paul Atanga Nji stated while congratulating the population for collaborating with the military to stamp out insecurity .

Some Bamenda city dwellers have doubted veracity of the process of getting the local guns without arresting a terrorist.

In a security meeting in Bamenda, Paul Atanga Nji affirms that “…it’s only the state that has the right over absolute violence”.

By stating this, Paul Atanga Nji is categoric that holding arms by those not authorised to do so is illegal. At the same time some critics think government’s use of violence has been abusive as innocent citizens continue to pay the heavy price.
